Members of Mississippi River Wild and the Pool 8 boathouse owners association, or CARP (Concerned About River People), will team up with staff from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to clean up lower Pool 8 this Saturday, June 2 from 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
This annual event removes a significant amount of garbage from the river; the combined efforts of the volunteers, and Corps and Service employees fills a large dumpster with old coolers, floatation barrels, bait cups, and other debris.
