Wednesday, May 30

At 6:31 p.m. officers responded to a report of a stolen DeWalt air compressor, valued at $450, from a garage in Altura sometime during the last two weeks.

Thursday, May 24

At 2:23 p.m. Police arrested Arne Erik Sippola, 61, of Winona, for third degree driving while intoxicated after a citizen reported erratic driving near Huff and Eighth Streets. Sippola had a blood alcohol content of .30 percent.

Tuesday, May 29

At 1:28 p.m. police responded to a report of theft from Costumes Plus, located on the 100 block of West Second Street. It was reported that $100-$150 cash was missing from the cash register.

Wednesday, May 30

At 6:58 a.m. police responded to the report of a theft from an address on the 650 block of Sarnia Street between May 9 and May 27. Missing was a tie, a tie clip, shirts, Crestor pills, stencils and felts from a locked file cabinet.

At 1:00 p.m. police ticketed James Hunter Johnson, 23, of Winona, for littering after he dumped frac sand on the steps of City Hall.

Thursday, May 31

At 5:39 p.m. police arrested Jason David Barker, 37, of Winona for second degree assault and terroristic treats after he allegedly pulled a black knife on a 46-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman after he felt they cut him off when he was riding his bike near Ninth and Jefferson Streets.

Monday, May 28

At 12:12 a.m. officers responded to a report of Kendra Mayzek, of Independence, swerving to miss a deer and driving into the ditch on Hwy 93 near Cross Road in Arcadia. Mayzek was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Tuesday, May 29

At 10:32 p.m. officers responded to the report of David Myhre, 37, of Blair, Wis., being thrown into the roadway after his motorcycle collided with a deer on State Road 95, east of County Road D in Preston. Myhre was transported to the hospital via a MedLink helicopter for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Myhre was wearing a helmet.
