Jacobs campaign truck vandalized (06/13/2012)
By Emily Buss
Late night vandals targeted Steve Jacob Saturday, ripping signs off a campaign truck and damaging the front end of the vehicle.

Jacob, who is running for District Three Winona County Commissioner, said the blue Chevrolet pickup truck was parked on Main Street in Altura Saturday evening. He said it was found vandalized the following morning.

“It’s really frustrating to see this vandalism happen to our campaign truck when you have people trying to make a change for the better in our government,” Jacob said.

All the signs attached to the vehicle had been broken and some body damage occurred to the front bumper of the truck.

“These committed campaign members put all this time and effort into working on this truck and others destroy that work by doing unlawful vandalism,” he said.

Jacob said the incident will not be a distraction to the campaign and said it has only made him more committed to the process.
