Habitat for Humanity Winona – Fillmore County invites you to a community celebration to welcome the Nicole Krage family to their new home on Tuesday, June 19th at 321 South Baker Street in Winona. An open house and special dedication celebration will begin at 5:15 p.m.
“We are so happy for the Krage family and are delighted to be celebrating the completion of this home. Habitat’s goal has always been to ensure the long-term affordability of the homes we build. Energy efficient construction creates a home that is as affordable to maintain as it is to purchase” said Executive Director, Nancy Iglesias.
Homebuyer Nicole Krage said “This whole process has been a great learning experience for me. I never expected to use a saw and install siding and install my own flooring. It was exciting to see the home take shape after the walls were framed. I was surprised at how fast it all goes up. It was fun helping to build my home and work with all the great volunteers. My favorite part of building my home was painting the exterior; it finally looked like a home. I’m excited to be moving into a new place. It will be great to have our own place and it will be financially affordable. The kids are excited to play in their own backyard. It will be nice to have all the bedrooms on the same level and the kids can have their own rooms.”
