Monday, June 11

At 7:47 a.m. a report was filed by an Altura resident that the men’s bathroom door at the city park had been kicked in. The door frame was split but there was no vandalism or damage to the inside of the bathroom. The estimated cost of the damage is $600.

Wednesday, June 13

At 4:49 p.m. Paul Prigge, of Dakota, reported his 1970 Alumacraft V-hull boat stolen. Prigge had chained the boat to a tree on the river bank near River Street. A witness said he saw two people cut down the tree and haul the boat away. The witness said he was told they were contacted by the city to clean up the shore line. The estimated cost of the boat is $1,000.

Thursday, June 14

At 4:49 p.m. a Winona County Sheriff’s deputy responded to an accident on County Road 3, about two miles south of Highway 61. James Edwin Hutchinson, 62, of La Crescent, was driving a 2000 Jeep when he swerved to miss a deer. Hutchinson’s vehicle drove into the ditch. He was transported via Tri State Ambulance to the hospital.

At 6:53 p.m. a La Crescent resident at 31864 Lanes Valley Road reported his meat slicer missing from a nearby pole shed. The estimated cost of the stolen item is $200.

Saturday, June 9

At 5:25 p.m. a 57-year-old male reported his houseboat had been broken into at the East End Boat Harbor. Stolen from the boat were 10 fishing poles, two tackle boxes, a trolling motor, two life jackets, a battery charger and three flashlights. The estimated cost of the stolen items is $1,380.

Saturday, June 9

At 1:38 a.m. police responded to the report of the front window broken out of Fresh Start. Damage was valued at $448.50.

Monday, June 11

At 5:16 p.m. police ticketed Jason Rodger Loth, 30, of Winona, for theft after he drove off with $40.03 worth of gas and two Monster energy drinks without paying from Freedom, located on the 200 block of Johnson Street.

Tuesday, June 12

At 3:37 p.m. police ticketed Kathryn Rebecca Kanz-Brand, 35, of Lewiston, for theft by shoplifting after she took $15.60 worth of miscellaneous items from Salvation Army.

At 3:29 p.m. police responded to a report of a stolen 26-inch, locked, girls Sea Trail bicycle from the 150 block of West Mark Street near the Winona State University maintenance building.

Wednesday, June 13

At 10 p.m. police ticketed Morgan B. Jacobus, 21, of Winona, for excessive noise coming from her party.

Thursday, June 14

At 4 p.m. a 21-year-old Winona resident reported his billfold missing after leaving it on the counter of the Kwik Trip at Sixth Street and Mankato Avenue. The wallet was turned in shortly after it was reported stolen without the estimated $44 that was in it.

At 10:43 p.m. police ticketed Franklin Henry Hernstine, 34, of Winona, with contributing to the delinquency of a minor during a party. Police also ticketed three Winona residents with minor consumption. The blood alcohol contents of the three minors were .086, .083, and .028. Hernstine is being referred to the county attorney.
