June 20

Harvest House, a nonprofit, non-denominational organization for 50 and getting better, will hold their monthly meeting Wednesday, June 20, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Stanislaus hall.  Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. with Father Paul Breza as celebrant, for those wishing to attend. There will be a business meeting followed by our picnic.  Bingo will be played.  Bring an unwrapped prize for bingo and a nonperishable food item for a needy family.  Lunch will be served. Sign up sheets for Fanny Hill “Star Spangled Girl” Sept. 27 and Chanhassen “Bye Bye Birdie” Oct. 24.  Nonmembers are welcome on our trips.  For more information, call Mary Jane at 454-8488 or Mary Ann at 452-5587. 

June 21

Winona County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will be attending the Winona County Family Night on the Farm 5-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Daley Farms outside of Lewiston. 

Minnesota City Community Readers will meet at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, June 21, at 115 Iowa Street, Minnesota City, to discuss De Tocqueville’s Democracy in America. The public is invited to the discussion whether or not they have read the book. Minnesota City Community Readers do not meet in the months of July and August.   Meetings will resume in September.

The regular monthly meeting of the Hiawatha Valley Education District Board of Directors is scheduled for Wednesday, June 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Hiawatha Valley Education District, 1410 Bundy Boulevard, Winona.

Overeater’s Anonymous meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. at 1717 Service Drive ( Faith Lutheran Church).

Al-Anon Family Group Thursdays, 7-8 p.m., St. Augustine Room, Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 360 Main Street. A 12-step fellowship for families of problem drinkers. 452-4445 for more information.

Addicted? Set Free! is a twelve week program to help you achieve victory over your addicting behaviors. New members are welcome any time. We meet weekly at Calvary Baptist Church, 676 W. Sarnia St., Winona,  at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evenings.  For more information call 452-6850. 

Celebrate Recovery meets Friday nights at Pleasant Valley Church, 1363 Homer Road, Winona. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program. If  you are looking for encouragement, strength and hope in your life please join us. Our evenings begin at 6:00 with dinner followed by worship, large group and small group discussions. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Minnesota sponsors free support groups for families who have a relative with a mental illness.  Led by trained facilitators who also have a family member with mental illness, the support groups help families develop better coping skills and find strength through sharing their experiences.  A family support group meets in Winona at 7:00 p.m., on the second Monday of the month, at Winona Health, in the Parkview conference room, 855 Mankato Ave. For information, call Helen at 507-494-0905.

Widowed Meet and Eat meets on Mondays at 11 a.m., at Culvers in June. Please call 452-1555, for information.

The Widowed Persons Social Group meets for breakfast every Tuesday at 8 a.m. at the Country Kitchen. Dinners every Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at The Black Horse. Special dinner Thursday, June 21, at Red Lobster in LaCrosse at 5:30 p.m. Carpooling from Fleet Farm parking lot on Perkins end, at 4:15 p.m., leaving at 4:30 p.m. Special noon lunch June 27, at Beth’s Twin Bluffs Cafe in Nelson, Wis. Carpooling from public lot on corner of Franklin and 4th St. by Eagles Club. Meet at 10:50 a.m., leaving at 11:05 a.m. All widowed people welcome.
