At Home With Alice the Owl
7:00 PM Saturday, July 3
Houston Nature Center
Alice the Great Horned Owl was injured when she was so young that she grew up thinking she's a human. She still has basic owl instincts, though. Get an inside look into how she applies her instincts to her cushy life in captivity. In this video you'll get to see Alice showering and bathing, shredding egg cartons, hiding her glove, falling asleep, pretending to kill a sweatshirt, and much, much more. Alice and her handler, Karla Kinstler, will be on hand to add commentary to the video and answer questions.
This program is free and open to the public. The Houston Nature Center is located one block north of the intersection of Highways 16 & 76 in Houston in Trailhead Park. For more information call 507-896-4668 or e-mail nature@acegroup.cc.
