July 9

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas will hold their picnic on Monday, July 9, at the Cathedral, Holy Family Hall at 5:45 p.m., rosary at 5:30 p.m. Bring a dish to share, your own placeware and a friend who may have interest in our mission. See you then!

July 10

Winona Flower and Garden Club will meet Tuesday, July 10, for our annual club garden tour.   We will meet at 5:00 p.m. at the lower end of the Penney’s parking lot and will drive to our first location from there.  Plans for the Fall Show will be discussed. Guests are invited and encouraged to attend.

July 11

Winona County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will hold their regular monthly board meeting at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, at the Winona County Fair (Entertainment Tent) in St. Charles. The board and staff will take questions and comments from the public following the regular meeting (at approximately 11:30 a.m.)

Caregiver Support Group for adults age 55 and better provides an opportunity to meet with other caregivers to exchange helpful tips, give and receive support, as well as learn about new resources. Next meeting is Wednesday July 11, from 2-3 p.m. at the Elder Network Office, 1756 Kraemer Drive, Suite 110, Winona. Contact Renee Kreter at 452-0580 for more information.

July 16

Winona Shrine Auxiliary will meet at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 16, at Westfield Golf Club. Menu will be chicken salad, croissant, fruit, and dessert. For reservations call Connie Wood at 454-1781.

July 19

The Whitewater Joint Powers Board will meet on Thursday, July 19, at 8:30 a.m. at the St. Charles City Hall, 830 Whitewater Avenue, St. Charles.

July 23

Winona Area Retired Educators Association (WAREA) will hold their annual inside picnic on Monday, July 23, at noon at Faith Lutheran Church, 1717 Service Drive, Winona. The catered lunch will be $7.75 with reservations required by July 16. Ernie Buhler will speak on Cowboy Poetry, an accounting of a cowboy’s life and stories in verse. Overeater’s Anonymous meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. at 1717 Service Drive ( Faith Lutheran Church).

Al-Anon Family Group Thursdays, 7-8 p.m., St. Augustine Room, Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 360 Main Street. A 12-step fellowship for families of problem drinkers. 452-4445 for more information.

TOPS MN #263 Winona- New members welcome. Learn how to lose weight  and keep it off. Wednesdays. Weigh-in between 8:00 a.m. - 8:50 a.m. Meeting/program 9:00 a.m. - 9:50 a.m. Callista Court, 1455 W. Broadway.

Addicted? Set Free! is a twelve week program to help you achieve victory over your addicting behaviors. New members are welcome any time. We meet weekly at Calvary Baptist Church, 676 W. Sarnia St., Winona,  at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evenings.  For more information call 452-6850. 

Celebrate Recovery meets Friday nights at Pleasant Valley Church, 1363 Homer Road, Winona. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program. If  you are looking for encouragement, strength and hope in your life please join us. Our evenings begin at 6:00 with dinner followed by worship, large group and small group discussions. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Minnesota sponsors free support groups for families who have a relative with a mental illness.  Led by trained facilitators who also have a family member with mental illness, the support groups help families develop better coping skills and find strength through sharing their experiences.  A family support group meets in Winona at 7:00 p.m., on the second Monday of the month, at Winona Health, in the Parkview conference room, 855 Mankato Ave. For information, call Helen at 507-494-0905.

Widowed Meet and Eat meets at 11 a.m. every Monday in July at Timbers. Please call 452-1555, for information.

The Widowed Persons Social Group (July) meets for breakfast every Tuesday at 8 a.m. at the Country Kitchen. Dinners every Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Culvers except for the special dinner on Thursday, July 19, at 5:30 p.m. at Sullivans Supper Club in Trempealeau. Carpooling will be from 4th and Franklin Streets parking lot at 4:05 p.m., leaving at 4:15 p.m. Special noon lunch is Wednesday, July 25, at noon at the LaCrosse Family Restaurant. Carpooling from Fleet Farm (on Perkin’s end) at 10:55 a.m., leaving at 11:10 a.m. All widowed people welcome.
