There’s still time to register for the 1st Annual “Anything that Floats” Regatta set for Saturday, July 28th on the Zumbro River! It doesn’t matter if you’re an old-hand or new to the Zumbro River, the only requirement is that your “boat” floats over the race’s finish line if you want to win a prize!
The race will start at noon in Zumbro Falls at the beach, which is the back side of the ball field, and ends at the Hammond landing.
Homemade vessels and conventional non-motorized watercraft may enter the race. Registrations will be taken until 11 a.m., July 28th. The fee to enter the race is $25 per floating vessel. Save $5 if you register by July 20th. Completed registration forms and your cash payment can be dropped off or sent to the Hammond Bar, 268 Center Street E, Hammond, MN 55991 or ZF Pizza, Ice Cream & Art, 508 Hwy. 60, Zumbro Falls, MN 55991.
On the day of the race, pre-registered teams may start checking in at 11 a.m.
All participants must sign a waiver and release form. Life jackets are required. No alcohol may be consumed while competing in the race, and all participants must be 18 years of age, or older OR they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
If you don’t want to make a floating vessel or decorate one, then come watch the fun!!! You’ll get to see who makes it over the finish line without falling apart! And you’ll get to see whose boat won’t float! Participants are responsible for removing their crafts that fail from the river.
