Theatre du Mississippi announces auditions.
July 18, 2012, 6:30 pm and July 21, 2012, 4:00 pm
Theatre du Mississippi will produce an original historic play in conjunction with the Winona County Historical Society’s annual Woodlawn Cemetery Discovery Walk, at the Historic Masonic Theater from October 12 – 14, 2012. This original work, featuring period and original music, highlights the true stories of 19th century Winona scandals, swindles and crimes as well as some pretty infamous villains. TdM is seeking actors to audition for the following parts, which are not primarily singing parts:
1) A young man, approx. 18 – 38
2) A young woman, approx. 18 – 38
3) Two older men, approx. 48 – 72
4) A middle aged man, approx. 30 – 50
To get advance character sketches and script segments for the purpose of auditioning, call Margaret Johnson, 507-452-3522. Actors will be paid a small stipend. Director is David Coral, Great River Shakespeare actor. Music director is Betsy Neil. Auditions will be held at the Historic Masonic Theater. Rehearsals will start in September.
