Karl Yatooma of Detroit, Mich., died at his residence on Friday, June 22, 2012.
He was a graduate of Winona State College and was a retired teacher from Oxford Sr. High School in Oxford, Mich. He was a veteran of the Army, serving in the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Alexander Yatooma; brothers John Yatooma and Norman Yatooma; and sister Frances Yatooma.
He is survived by the mother of his nine children, Dolores Ann (Christ) Yatooma of Tamarac, Fla., formerly of Winona; Richard Karl Yatooma, Lancaster, Calif.; Margaret Ann (Andy) Bogle, Brenham, Texas; Judith Marie Hynes, Troy, Mich.; Deborah Jean Schermerhorn, Bethesda, Md.; Lorraine Ann (Randy) Lievan, Chula Vista, Calif.; Susan Lynn Martinez, Coral Springs, Fla.; Ronald Christopher (Shannon) Yatooma, Rancho Cordoba, Calif.; and Barbara Grace (Spencer) Jones, Algonac, Mich.; and his 14 grandchildren: Andrew and Thomas Bogle; Alyssa Hynes; Jon and Lauren Schermerhorn; Candace and Travis Kassab; Tyler and Victoria Martinez; Kellyn, Elyse and Mateo Yatooma; and Austin and Autumn Jones.
