Interior/Exterior will feature oil painting by Jane Weis, opening on Saturday, August 18, 2012 with a public artist reception from 6-8 p.m. at the Lanesboro Arts Center. Free to the public and handicapped accessible, the exhibit will run through Oct. 13, 2012. The exhibit is sponsored by POET Biorefining, and supported by the Minnesota State Arts Board.
Interior/Exterior is mainly about the farmhouses and landscapes of southeastern Minnesota, with oil paintings in purples, greens, ochres, and indigos—colors typical of Jane Weis’ palette. She thinks of the paintings in Interior/Exterior as meditative landscapes, inviting viewers to contemplate the scenes, not just with their eyes, but with their emotions.
