Perrot State Park naturalist programs (08/08/2012)
Saturday, August 11

11:00 am: EcoScavenger Hunt

Stop by the Nature Center and test your powers of observation. A safe area will be defined and you are challenged to find all the items on a scavenger hunt sheet that you can! Mementos will be passed out to all participants!

2:00 pm: Tree ID for Everyone

Join Andrea to learn the trick to identifying trees! By the end of the program, you will be able to use a simple tree ID key and ID at least 3 trees at first glance. There will be a short tree hike on fairly level terrain, and everyone is invited to this great family activity.

7:00 pm: Fishing with George

Life on the river is more than a playful frolic. Meet George Richtman, a local commercial fisherman who has lived on (and off of) the river his entire life. He will share some of his stories and knowledge about the mighty Mississippi and introduce you to the specialized equipment he uses to earn a living from the river in all seasons.
