Winona Chiefs update (08/15/2012)

The Minnesota Baseball Association has just released the updated Class C bracket for the 2012 State Tournament at Putz & Faber Fields in St. Cloud. The single elimination tournament features 48 teams from 16 different regions with all regions receiving at lest 2 seeds and some regions receiving up to 4 teams. When looking at the bracket teams have a number and a letter next to them indicating the Region they came from and if they were the A (1), B (2), C (3), or D (4) team from thier Region. All A’s (#1’s) each receive a bye and begin play in the second round on the second weekend.
Winona is the B (#2) from Region 5 and will match up with the New Munich Silverstreaks who are the C (#3) team from Region 15. The 1st round game will be played Saturday 8/18 at 8:00PM at Faber Field in St. Cloud.
The winnner of the this first round game will take on the Region 13 winner - The Fairmont Martins, Sun 8/26 at 2:00PM.
