Stockman, Wayne (08/15/2012)
Wayne D. Stockman, age 65, of Winona, Minnesota, died Monday, August 13, 2012 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Wayne Daniel was born October 17, 1946, in West Union, Iowa to Charles and Lettie (Munson) Stockman. Growing up he attended school in North Fayette, and was a member of the 1963 graduating class. At the age of 18 he moved to Winona.

On December 10, 1984 he was united in marriage to Peggy Mueller in Kodiak, Alaska.

Wayne worked for Peerless Chain in Winona before moving to Kodiak, Alaska, where he worked as a commercial fisherman. After moving back to Winona he worked as a cement contractor and retired in 2011. Wayne was also a chairman of the Wilson Town Board where he worked on township projects, which were close to his heart.

Family was very important to Wayne. He loved his daughters, Trinity and Dawn, and grandchildren very much. He had a sense of humor and often would pick on those he loved most, especially his wife, Peggy. He enjoyed spending time outdoors especially, hunting, fishing, gardening and golfing. Wayne was a talented woodworker and cook. He was known specifically to be a great cook of fish. Wayne liked to spend time playing card games, pinochle always seemed to be a favorite. He was always ready for Schmidt socializing. Wayne will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Peggy Stockman of Winona, Minnesota; daughters: Trinity (Chad Boland) Peterson of Winona, Minnesota; and Dawn Stockman of Anchorage, Alaska; grandchildren: Brendan, Brady and Bentli of Winona, Minnesota; and three grandchildren living in Alaska; brothers: Randy (Linda) Stockman of Monona, Iowa; Frank (Nancy) Stockman of Fayette, Iowa; and Brian (Tara) Stockman of Stewartville, Minnesota; sisters: Becky (Marty) Timp of Calmar, Iowa; Nancy (Steve) Poshuta of Calmar, Iowa; and Gail (Wayne) Moss of West Union, Iowa; numerous nieces and nephews; other extended family and many friends.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, David.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 17, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. at the Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home in Winona. Visitation will take place prior to the service starting at 4:00 p.m. at the Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be Wayne Moss, Steve Poshusta, Jeff Abrams, Scott Moore, Marty Timp and Chad Boland.
