August 29th: How Can I Reduce My Risk of Falling?
Did you know in the United States, every year 1 in 3 adults over the age of 65 has a fall? What are the risk factors associated with falling? Where do falls most often occur? What can each person do to reduce the risk of falling? What are some exercises we can do at home to help with balance and decreasing falls? (A demonstration of exercises will take place). Learn the answers to these questions and also hear about a program Olmsted County has developed to reduce the severity and risk of falls in older adults. Participants will have the opportunity to give feedback on Falls Prevention programs they might like to have in Winona County.
