Lois J. Sauer, 56, of Eitzen, passed away Friday, August 17, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in LaCrosse.
She was born July 31, 1956, in Caledonia, Minn., to Edward and Gladys (Schulze) Vetsch. Lois was a 1974 graduate of Caledonia High School.
On March 15, 1975, she married Charles Myhre at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Caledonia, and they were later divorced.
On August 25, 1990, she married Paul “Ed” Sauer in Eitzen. He preceded her in death on February 23, 2011.
Survivors include two children, Crystal Bechtel of Eitzen, and Eric (Stacey) Myhre of Marshall, Minn.; seven grandchildren, Mitchell and Kyle Bechtel, Darrick and McKayla Allpress, and Emma, Braeden and Noah Myhre; her mother, Gladys Vetsch, of Winona; one sister, Joyce (Jim) Carpenter of Fairbanks, Alaska; four brothers, Roger Vetsch of Onalaska, Dale (Rozann) Vetsch of Caledonia, Gordon (Cheryl) Vetsch of Dubuque, Iowa, and Scott (Carla) Vetsch of Rollingstone, Minn.; her special friend, Stuart Burmester, of New Albin, Iowa; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her husband, Lois was preceded in death by her father, her former son-in-law Tim Bechtel, and a grandson in infancy, Andrew.
A private family memorial service will be held at St. John’s United Church of Christ, Wheatland, rural Eitzen. Pastor Paul Burgess will officiate.
An open house in celebration of life will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Eitzen Community Center.
