The August meeting of the Nor-Win Lodge of Sons of Norway will be a potluck picnic at the Lion’s Pavilion in Lake Park on August 28, at 6:00 p.m. Valheim Lodge from Spring Grove will join us for this event.
September 4
Winona Area Retired Educators Association (WAREA) will hold their annual School Bell Breakfast on Tuesday, September 4, at 8:30 a.m. at Perkins in Winona. Members and friends are cordially invited. If not called contact Jane Habeck at 454-1430 or jhabeck@wildblue.net
September 6
The next meeting of the Hiawatha Valley Marines will be held at the Winona Area Veterans Center on Thursday September 6, at 7:00 p.m. All Marines and Corpsmen who served with the USMC are encouraged to attend. Agenda items will include: finalization of the September 9 fund raiser, review of of the Toys for Tots campaign status, participation in the Dakota Gathering, and discussion of the election of officers.
Cathedral’s Young At Heart group will meet on September 6, starting with a 12:10 p.m. Mass for those who wish to attend. It will be followed by a lunch at 12:45 p.m. of pork loin, mashed potatoes with pork gravy, strawberry fluff salad, squash, roll, apple bars with crust, and a beverage. The cost of the meal is $3.00. After lunch we will be entertained by John Bernadot and his marvelous guitar. RESERVATIONS are a MUST and NONE WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE DEADLINE. The DEADLINE for reservations is Monday September 3. Please call Marge at 454-3433 no later than September 3, for reservations and if you need a ride. All are welcome and we look forward to seeing you there!

The next meeting for the Whitewater Joint Power Board is scheduled for September 13, in the St. Charles City Hall Community Room, 830 Whitewater Avenue, St. Charles. Please note that the meeting continues to be held there due to construction at Whitewater State Park.
