J. James Naal, age 87, of Trempealeau, Wis., passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2012, at his home.
Jim was born on June 1, 1925, the son of Julien and Florence (Schumacher) Naal.
He was a graduate of Washburne Trade School in Chicago, and was certified through the Chicago Lighting Institute. He worked as a journeyman, foreman, estimator, and contractor with a master (supervising) electrician in several states.
Jim owned and operated Naal Electric and Lighting Services, Inc., in the Chicago area. He worked in the lighting department at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, and following his retirement, he remained a regional technical advisor with Sylvania Lighting Service Corporation for the Midwest Region from 1972 until the present.
He has been a member of the National Association of Lighting Maintenance Contractors, the North Suburban Electrical in Chicago, and Rotary International.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Geri, Trempealeau; son: Doug, North Brook, Ill; stepchildren: Michael (Linda) Englerth, Eden Prairie, Minn., Mark (Karleen) Englerth, West Salem, Wis., Kris (Ross) Nakagi, San Jose, Calif., and Matt (Jody) Englerth, Holmen, Wis., sisters: Rosemary Hewitt, Cordova, Ark; and Dorothy Klitzing, San Marcus, Calif., 12 grandchildren; as well as other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, MaryJean; parents; and a brother, Urban.
A family gathering is planned to celebrate Jim’s life.
