Eleanor G. Schwan, age 88, died on Saturday, August 25, 2012, at Sauer Health Care.
Eleanor was born on August 12, 1924, in Winona to Gayle and Eleanor (Loomis) Corey. She graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1942 and attended vocational school in the secretarial program. She was employed by District 861 for twenty-five years and Sauer Memorial Home for over three years.
She married Milliard Schwan on August 26, 1946, in Winona.
She was a member of St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and was Past President of its Ladies Guild and was on its visitation team; she was also Past President of Sauer Memorial Home Auvilliary. She a receptionist at the Senior Friendship Center and woked in the gift shop.
She is survived by stepdaughter, Barbara (George) Corey, Minnesota City; four stepgrandchildren, Peggy (Robert) Miller; Steven (Jeanne) Peterson; Rebecca Gibson and Amy Sutton; four stepgreat-grandchildren, Kristy Miller, Adam Miller, Jason Brown and Skylar Peterson; stepgreat-great-grandson, Grayson Miller; two brothers, George (Barbara) Corey, Minnesota City and Wayne Corey, Gilbert, Minn., two sisters, Vivian Paulson, Duluth, Minn., and Marietta Bol, Gilbert, Minn.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Millard; three brothers, Cecil, Gayle and Chester and two sisters, Mabel and Doris.
Funeral servives will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at 12:30 p.m. at Martin-Myhre Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Richard Moore officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday after 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
