Tuesday, Sept. 11
At 3:30 p.m. deputies responded to an accident involving a motorcycle and vehicle on County Road 26 in Elba. Wayne Ehlenfeldt, 54, of Elba, was westbound on County Road 26 near the fire tower when he came up on Allyn Kroning, of Zephyr Hills, Fla., who was turning into the fire tower parking lot. Ehlenfeldt ran into the back of Kroning’s vehicle and sustained minor injuries. Ehlenfeldt was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was transported by an Altura ambulance to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. No citations have been issued at this time.

Tuesday, Sept. 11
At 9:23 a.m. a Winona resident reported the theft of her handmade bird feeder from her residence in the 800 block of West Tenth Street. Estimated cost of the stolen property is $200.
Wed., Sept. 12
At 9:38 a.m. police ticketed a 15-year-old female for possession of drug paraphernalia at Winona Senior High School after a school official discovered digital evidence of the girl in possession of a marijuana pipe.
Thur., September 13
At 1:50 a.m. police arrested Haley Marie Holt, 21, of Rochester, for third degree driving while intoxicated after she was pulled over near Ninth and Huff streets. The officer detected the odor of alcohol and administered a preliminary breath test. Holt had a blood alcohol content of .216 percent and is being referred to the county attorney’s office for formal charges.
At 3:36 p.m. police ticketed Joy Carol Breer, 53, of Rushford, for shoplifting after she allegedly stole $12.00 worth of merchandise from The Vault consignment shop in the 50 block of West Fourth Street.

The Winona County Attorney is handling a case involving Erin Margaret Beirne, 36, of St. Peter, Minn., and Aaron Patrick Devorak, 34, of Lewiston, for charges of felony theft stemming from a June 24, 2012, incident at the Kwik Trip on Cottonwood Drive where the two drove off without paying for their tank of gas. Upon investigation, the Winona Police Department discovered Beirne and Devorak were involved in multiple gas runoffs throughout Southeast Minnesota dating back to April 2012. Since April, the two have stolen more than $1,100 in gas from gas stations between Winona and Mankato.
