September 17
Winona Shrine Auxiliary will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, September 17, at Westfield Golf Club. The menu will be baked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, salad, vegetable, and dessert. A collection will be take for toys for the hospital. For reservations call Connie Wood at 454-1781.
September 19
Harvest House will hold their monthly meeting Wednesday, September 19, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Stanislaus hall. Celebration of Mass will be at 1:00 p.m. with Father Paul Breza as celebrant. There will be a business meeting followed by bingo. Bring an unwrapped prize for bingo and a non-perishable food item for a needy family. Lunch will be served. Minnesota City Community Readers will meet at the former Minnesota City School Building, 115 Iowa Street, Minnesota City, on Thursday at 6:30 p.m., September 20. The book being discussed is Homer’s The Odyssey. Readers are invited to participate whether or not they have read the book. The Community Readers have been meeting since 2005. There are no dues for participation; readers select the books which are secured from a variety of sources, nearly always without charge.
