Winona Health Psychiatric & Counseling Services is offering free, confidential depression screenings on Thursday, October 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Winona Health’s 3rd floor, B.A. Miller Auditorium, 855 Mankato Avenue.
“One out of every five adults may experience depression at some point in their lives,” said Betsy Rowekamp, Winona Health certified psychiatric registered nurse. “We want people to know that help is available and that they can feel better.”
Common symptoms of depression include any of the following:
A persistent feeling of sadness
Loss of pleasure in usually enjoyable activities
Feeling of hopelessness, helplessness and worthlessness
Changes in sleep patterns and appetite
Loss of energy
Restlessness
Thoughts of death or suicide
