The Winona State University Healthy Mondays series will present “Canine Companions” at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, in the Integrated Wellness Complex, room 138.
WSU Health and Wellness Counselor Lynda Brzezinski will primarily focus on the social dimension of wellness and the bond between humans and dogs that has been well documented throughout the ages. Students will learn about this bond; how it helps with issues like anxiety, depression, stress, and other health concerns; animal-assisted activities; and animal-assisted therapy. A Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certified dog will be at the session.
Healthy Mondays are part of a national campaign to increase health and wellness on campus by promoting awareness of physical, emotional, social, occupational, intellectual, environmental, and spiritual health and wellness.
This event is free and open to all students.
