The Winona County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the owner of two painted horses found running at large Monday night.
According to Sheriff Dave Brand, the tame horses were found around 10 p.m. Monday near County Road 19, about three miles from Interstate 90. One horse was wearing a halter.
Brand and another sheriff’s deputy were able to gain control of the horses and now have them in protective custody. Brand is asking anyone with any information to contact the Sheriff’s Department.
