The Mid West Music Fest has grown in Winona since its first year, and the 2013 plans are already beginning to take shape. On Monday, the festival committee charged with listening to bands and artists who would like to take the stage will begin to accept submissions for the 2013 festival, building a line-up that promises something for everyone during the three-day festival slated for April.
“The only thing a musician needs to do is complete our music submission form, and provide us with a way to stream the music online,” said festival founder Sam Brown. “Whether it’s through Facebook, Youtube, Myspace, Reverbnation, we just want to be able to hear an example of their music. As always, we are hoping to bring a musically and geographically diverse lineup to MWMF this year. We are hoping to host everything from blues to hip hop, bluegrass to indie rock and everything in between.”
Discounted early bird tickets will also go on sale on October 1, offering a discount for those who would like nab festival passes until December 31, 2012. Tickets are available online at mwmf2013.eventbrite.com.
Brown said he’d also like to get the word out about the festival’s Sustainability Campaign, a fundraising effort to ensure the festival is able to continue in years to come. Anyone interested in sponsoring the festival or making a tax-deductible donation to MWMF can contact Brown at sam.b@midwestmusicfest.org or the Winona Community Foundation at 507-454-6511.
