October 7
The Luxembourg Museum and Society members will meet Sunday, October 7, in the Senior Center in the Rollingstone Park at 1 p.m. On the agenda are the January 28, 2013 Treipenfest and additional events occurring in 2012 and 2013.
October 8
The Catholic Daughters will meet on Monday, October 8, at 6:30 p.m. in Holy Family Hall, Cathedral Church. The audit will be at 5:30 p.m. with the meeting following. We are having a “CUPCAKE WAR” also. Put your thinking caps on and make them fun. A prize will be given!
The board meeting of Stockton, Rollingstone, Minnesota City Watershed District is October 8, at 7 p.m. at the Stockton community center, 600 D St., Stockton.
Chautauqua Club will meet on Monday, October 8, at noon at the Winona Area Historical Society. The program will be presented by Jodi Brom. Linda Olson will co-hostess with Cindy Donahue. Please contact Cindy if you are unable to attend.
October 9
The Winona Flower and Garden Club will meet Tuesday, October 9, at 5:00 p.m. at the Eagles Club, 210 E. 4th Street, Winona. Master Gardener Pat Tolmie will talk about planting spring bulbs. Light refreshments will be served. Guests are invited and encouraged to attend.
October 10
Winona County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will hold their regular monthly board meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10, at the Ag Service Center, 400 Wilson Street, Lewiston.
October 11
The Hiawatha Valley Civil War Round Table will meet on Thursday, October 11, at 7:00 p.m. on the second floor of the Winona County History Center, 160 Johnson Street, Winona. Robert Raz will be making an interesting presentation on “Stupid Decisions of the Civil War.” All are invited and refreshments will be served.
The Whitewater Joint Powers Board will meet on Thursday, October 11, at 8:30 a.m. in the St. Charles City Hall Community Room, 830 Whitewater Avenue, St. Charles.
October 13
The monthly meeting of the Minnesota City Historical Association will be held on Saturday, October 13, at the First Baptist Church, 140 Mill Street, Minnesota City, at 9:30 a.m.; open to the public. The agenda includes planning for the annual Christmas Festival Sing to be held December 8, at the First Baptist Church in Minnesota City.
October 15
Winona Shrine Auxiliary will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, October 15, at Westfield Golf Club. The menu will be lasagna, breadsticks, salad, and dessert. $5.00 dues for 2013 can be paid at this meeting. For reservations call Connie Wood at 454-1781.
October 17
Harvest House, a non-profit, non-denominational organization for 50 and getting better, will hold their monthly meeting Wednesday, October 17, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Stanislaus Hall. Celebration of Mass will be at 1:00 p.m. with Father Paul Breza as celebrant, for those wishing to attend. There will be a business meeting. Our speaker will be Allison Ogren, demonstrating simple exercise. Bring a non-perishable food item for a needy family. Lunch will be served.
