Motorcycle driver killed in crash with semi (10/07/2012)

On October 2 at 4:15 p.m. on State Road 54, west of River Drive in the Township of Gale, a westbound semi-tractor trailer driven by Hugo Edinilson Melendez, 36, of Siloam Springs Ark., lost control on a curve, flipped on its side and struck an eastbound motorcycle driven by Daniel E. Frenzel, 67, of Marshfield, Wis. Frenzel was pronounced dead at the scene by the Trempealeau County coroner. The driver of the semi had minor injuries. State Road 54 was closed for about seven hours. The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the accident.
