Buffalo Co. issues burning ban (10/07/2012)

The Buffalo County Fire Association Departments (Alma, Arcadia, Dodge, Durand, Fountain City, Mondovi, Nelson, Tri-Community and Waumandee) in conjunction with the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office is advising the public of a countywide burning ban effective immediately. No authorization to burn outdoors at this time is being issued due to the extremely dry conditions.
At the current time the Fire Association of Buffalo County along with the sheriff’s office requests public compliance during this ban. The fire ban will be in effect until an ample amount of rain has fallen to improve the dry conditions.
Please report any suspicious fire activity immediately to your local fire department by calling the sheriff’s office at 608-685-4433 or by dialing 911 in case of an emergency. The public’s assistance in this request is strongly encouraged due to dry conditions.
