The Buffalo County Board is expected to vote on a possible extension of the current moratorium on new frac sand mines and related facilities.
The vote will be held during the board meeting on Tuesday, October 16, at 6:30 p.m. at the Buffalo County Boardroom at the courthouse in Alma, Wis.
On Wednesday, October 17 at 5:30 p.m. at the Gilmanton American Legion Memorial Hall, the Buffalo County Board of Adjustment is expected to vote to approve or deny a permit to mine frac sand requested by Glacier Sands on behalf of property owners Roger and Sally Larson, William Stanton, and Dean and Glenn Johnson. Because that permit request was made prior to the passage of the current moratorium for new mines, the application was allowed to proceed.
