Seven years ago I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Carcinoid, an incurable form of cancer. Since that time, I have had two major surgeries to remove as much of the masses as possible. Seven members of my immediate family have also been afflicted with various types of cancer. After my last surgery at Rochester, Minn., it became apparent that I wanted to do something more to end these dreadful diseases. To that end my husband and I have decided to start a benefit “Golden Dream” to subsidize research at Mayo Clinic. I don’t believe anyone anywhere has not been touched either family or friends by cancer.
The “Golden Dream” benefit is to be held Monday, November 5, at the Winona Elks Lodge and we are asking for your support to make this function a success. Monetary donations are needed to help defray the expenses of putting the benefit on. Can you help us help others with this worthy cause?
This fun filled evening will include a prime rib and shrimp dinner, door prizes, and socialization with other members of our community who have a desire to find cures or better treatments for cancer.
Sponsorship with a monetary donation to help with the cost of advertisements, door prizes and other start up costs would be greatly appreciated. Your organization will be credited for its help. Thank you for your consideration.
All proceeds are to be donated for cancer research at Mayo Clinic.
