At a County Commissioner meeting July 26, 2011, Commissioner Mena Kaehler lost her temper. She became irate to Commissioner Marcia Ward. Mena didn’t know of resolution 2003-08. It states in part that it does not preclude (prevent) communications between commissioners and county staff in any way. Mena ranted about Marcia Ward communicating with one of the staff persons for information. Mena’s improper conduct doesn’t facilitate effective efficient government that she often refers to. Her roles and responsibilities do NOT include doing a performance review of any commissioner. The best predicter of future behavior is past behavior. We can’t trust Mena to avoid violating the “Respectful Workplace Policy” again. That could expose the county to unnecessary liability. Her inappropriate comments and behavior negatively reflect on Winona County. That is only one reason I will not vote for Mena Kaehler or trust her.
