A number of people have been saying that their dad voted a straight ticket for the Democrats and ‘he would turn over in his grave’ if they would deviate and vote for a Republican. My question is, “How do you think he would respond if he knew what the platform of the Democratic party is today?” President Kennedy had a famous quote, “Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country.” It appears to me to be reversed in this current administration
The platform presented at the Democratic Convention this year supports abortion on demand, partial birth abortion, taxpayer-funded/subsidized abortion, and funding organizations that perform or advocate for abortion. Obamacare requires insurance to pay for all of the above with no conscience clause. A number of hospitals, clinics and religious institutions have filed for exemptions on religious grounds, what happened to freedom of religion? Opening the convention with a prayer and a pledge to support Israel was only allowed after a vigorous protest by concerned delegates. This is only one portion of the platform that warrants research.
Isaiah 5:20,21 - “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil: Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!”
I recommend reading several Voters’ Guides to the Democratic Party and Republican Party Platforms, 2012 General Election to verify if the party or person you plan to vote for actually supports your values. Do some research and reading of the current policies and plans of the Democrats before blindly voting the way your dad voted.
