In the October 24 edition of the Winona Post, Fountain City resident Jeff Falk was misquoted in the article titled “Planning Commission will study air quality further, delay final draft.”
The article suggests Falk expressed the need for the City of Winona to invest in a monitoring system that would detect high levels of silica particulates.
The reporter misinterpreted Falk’s statements. Falk said he intended to say the proposed device used to measure moisture levels in sand was not an adequate tool to monitor air quality, as it only monitors sand. The reporter misunderstood Falk’s call for a region-wide monitoring effort as wanting the City to invest in a monitoring system.
The reporter regrets the error.
