Saturday, Oct. 20

At 4:35 a.m. police ticketed Devin Bernard Bryson, 25, of Winona, for theft of a motor vehicle after he allegedly took a moped. According to the report, police on patrol near the 350 block of East Eighth Street were running license plates of mopeds when one came back as stolen. The vehicle identification number did not match the license plate number. A moped several feet away also came up stolen and police discovered the license plate number had been altered with black duct tape. Officers staked out the area until they saw a male, identified as Bryson, get on the moped with the altered license plate. They questioned Bryson and Bryson said his roommate gave him permission to use it. The roommate then told police he did not give him permission to use the moped.

Thursday, Oct.25

At 4:10 p.m. a Winona resident reported missing his silver Xbox 360 gaming console from his residence in the 1150 block of West Broadway. According to the report, the male said the device was taken the previous weekend. He said he was out of town but his roommates had a party. Estimated value of the stolen property is unknown.

At 6:51 p.m. police arrested Jasmine Lee Vondal, 21, of Grand Forks, N.D., for shoplifting and providing a false name and date of birth, and ticketed Adam August Volkert, 23, of Winona, for shoplifting and providing a false name and date of birth after the two allegedly stole rechargeable batteries from Fleet Farm. According to the report, Vondal told police she was a woman named Samantha from North Dakota and Volkert told police he was a man named Kyle. Officers found the correct identification cards on their person and determined Vondal was not from Minnesota and had no ties to the community. Police arrested and ticketed Volkert for shoplifting.

At 11:21 p.m. a 64-year-old Winona resident reported missing several bottles of medication from her room at the AmericInn on Riverview Drive. The female said she checked into the room with her fiance shortly after 3 p.m. The two then went back to their home to get more items and returned to the room around 8:30 p.m. The woman said a bag she placed near the air conditioning unit was missing. Inside the bag were prescription bottles of Lorazepam, Metformin, Glipizide, Ziprasidone, and Cetirizine.

Friday, October 26

At 1:52 a.m. police ticketed Thomas Christy Quasius, 20, of Hudson, Wis., for underage consumption of alcohol after he was seen wandering in an alley near Fourth and Center streets. When police made contact with Quasius, they determined he was extremely intoxicated. Quasius had a blood alcohol content of .288 percent.

At 2:15 a.m. police arrested Paige Lyn Abrahamson, 20, of Carlton, Minn., for fourth degree driving while intoxicated after she was pulled over near Broadway and Laird streets for expired registration. According to the report, officers on patrol stopped Abrahamson for expired registration and having mismatched license plates. Upon investigation, officers discovered she had valid registration but was in violation for having two different plates. Abrahamson said the plate on the back of the vehicle fell off, exposing an old one. Officers detected the odor of alcohol and administered a preliminary breath test. Abrahamson had a blood alcohol content of .18 percent.
