We should ask “Who is Mena Kaehler?” She farms, yes, but she has traveled to Cuba and sold cattle to Castro, and she is very proud of that. There is an old saying: “Show me your friends and I’ll tell you who you are.” Shouldn’t we be concerned about having someone on our county board who is friendly with a dictator? And they both endorse Obama. They think alike: bigger government which means more government control, more restrictions on the people which ultimately infringes on our freedom.
One change to the zoning ordinance that Mena Kaehler insisted on was to remove some of the shore land restrictions. An indication of how she will vote in the future is how she has voted in the past. It’s time for a change to someone who will listen to the townships and the people who live in District 3 rather than just follow along with the commissioners from the city and the county administrator.
