I hope you will cast your vote yes for the marriage amendment.
Changing the definition of marriage to make it genderless thus accommodating the demands of same sex couples, can impact virtually every aspect of life.
1. Family law. Whenever local schools educate children about marriage, they will have little choice but to teach a new genderless institution because that will be the only legal form of marriage in Minnesota.
2. Operation of private and religious charities, schools and organizations. Catholic Charities in Boston and Washington, D.C., have been forced to close their adoption agencies for their beliefs that children do best when raised by a married mother and father.
Everyone is entitled to love whom they want, but nobody is entitled to redefine marriage. “Marriage is not about what adults want, it’s about what children need.” Don’t you think?
