Joan M. Tullius, age 81, of rural Fountain City, Wis., died Monday, November 5, 2012, at Lake Winona Manor, a resident of five days, with her loving family at her side.
Joan was born May 27, 1931, in the Town of Buffalo, Buffalo County, Wis., to John and Anna (Glowacki) Glodowski. On July 15, 1952, she married Galen Tullius at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Winona, Minn., and they were married for 49 years. Galen preceded her in death on June 20, 2002. For 30 years she had an upholstery business, as well as helping Galen on the farm. She enjoyed cooking, baking, bird watching, and puzzles. Her favorite pastime was playing dominoes with her children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. She is now in God’s loving arms and we will miss her cheerful smile, gentle hugs, and helping hands.
She is survived by four sons: Roger (Gloria) Tullius, Fountain City; Ronald (Wanda) Tullius, Fountain City; Robert Tullius, Fountain City; Ryan (Judy) Tullius, Green Bay, Wis., two daughters: Roxane (John) Becker, Fountain City; and Rachael (Charles) Gilkes, Onalaska, Wis., 22 grandchildren; 22 great- grandchildren; a brother, Roman (Beverly) Gladowski, Pahrump, Nev.; two sisters-in-law: Bernice Glodowski and Diane Glodowski; a brother-in-law, Richard Rodgers; many nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Rebeca; a grandson, Barry “BJ” Tullius; brothers: Louis, Andrew, Stanley, John, and Robert; and sisters: Helen, Dolores, Bernadine, and Frances.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fountain City, Wis., with Rev. Brian Jazdzewski officiating. Interment will be at Fountain City Public Cemetery, Fountain City, Wis.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the church on Friday.
Casketbearers will be Joan’s sons: Roger, Ronald, Robert, and Ryan and sons-in-law: John Becker and Charles Gilkes.
