The pre-election promotions became too much for one Winona man to handle. On Saturday afternoon he walked into the GOP headquarters in the Winona Mall and threw Republican campaign fliers at a worker.
According to the report, a male between the ages of 45 and 50 years old entered the office just after 2 p.m. Saturday and threw political fliers at a worker. The man told the campaign worker that he does not vote and to stop sending Republican mailings to his house.
The campaign worker called police and said the man was harassing other people in the building. Officers caught up with the suspect on Vila Street between Fifth and Broadway streets. The man said he did not harass anyone but said he was tired of receiving political mailings at his house.
No citations were issued.
