Semi rollover traps driver (11/11/2012)
On Thursday, November 8, just before noon the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a one vehicle rollover on CTH P near Piepers Valley in the Town of Buffalo. The caller indicated that a semi had rolled over and that the driver was injured and trapped inside. Investigation of the crash indicated that Randy Ziemann, 59, of Rochester, Minn., was operating a 2001 Peterbuilt semi tractor-trailer westbound on CTH P, when the semi crossed the centerline and rolled over while negotiating a curve. The semi was loaded with sand at the time. Ziemann was trapped in the semi and was extricated by the Fountain City Fire Department. Ziemann was airlifted by Medlink Air Ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. Speed was a factor in the crash.
