From: Holly Puetz
It is that time of year again, when in the hustle and bustle of the holidays, the sight of The Salvation Army’s Christmas Kettles and the sound of bells reminds us to be thankful for what we have and to think of others less fortunate. Often when people think of those in need, they picture homeless in large cities, not realizing the number of people affected right here in our own communities.
This holiday season is the time for giving. Some people give only to their friends and relatives, buying lavish gifts for display under the Christmas tree. But this time of year prompts us to give more than just pretty presents. You can give your talents to The Salvation Army. As a volunteer worker for The Army, you’d be helping to make Christmas a more joyous occasion for the needy individuals in your community.
Children of deprived families, the elderly, the sick, the homeless, are all given loving attention and care by The Salvation Army. If you can give the precious gift of time, call Holly Puetz at 507-458-8445 for more information. If you can’t devote your time to the cause, why not drop a check in the Christmas Kettles you will see located in Winona.
When you give to others who need your help, you give yourself a great feeling of warmth.
Thank you for your continuing support.
