When John Boehner, Speaker of the House told his Abe Lincoln story of his early life having to swab his father’s tavern before going to school in the morning and work his way through college, he started to cry when telling this story on the floor of the House. Was he having a flashback to his younger days? If so, this is a clear case of post traumatic stress disorder.
At that time there were many farm kids that had to do chores before school, paper boys and girls that delivered newspapers before school in the morning. Some of them also worked their way through college.
I heard of one family when I was young that got up one morning and the only food in the house was a sack of onions, a pound of lard, and a loaf of bread. So they had a choice of having a hamburger sandwich smothered in fried onions minus the meat or having nothing at all.
I also remember hearing about a cab driver in Winona that a local police officer handed his hand gun to. This cab driver took the gun over to the game refuge in Wisconsin, shot a deer and gave it to a needy family in Winona because they had no food in the house.
Is this what the Tory Party has in mind when they say they want to take our country back? How far back do they want to take us? Could it be back to before 1775 when the Torys used the trickle down method of the wealthy and political elite of the British Empire?
I’m sure John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell all have an Abe Lincoln story to tell. So I am in favor of sending all of them sympathy cards to help them overcome their post traumatic stress disorder. If you should choose to send any of them a sympathy card, please send a copy of this letter along with it.
