May, Mary Jane (11/18/2012)
Mary Jane May, age 82, of Winona, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at Winona Health.

Mary Jane was born on August 19, 1930, in Winona, to Alfred and Augusta (Szewell) Plank. She was united in marriage with William E. May on May 28, 1948, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Winona. He preceded her in death on February 22, 1996.

She was a member of Harvest House, and the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka, where she looked forward to the annual Fall Festival and trying her luck to win a quilt. Mary Jane enjoyed playing cards, especially 500, Bingo, cheering for the Minnesota Twins, and decorating for Christmas.

For many years, Mary Jane worked as a bookkeeper for her father and her sons in their businesses. Her greatest joy in life was her family, and will be remembered as a loving wife, mom and grandma - she was always so very proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary Jane is lovingly survived by her children: Diane (Allen) Otte; Nancy (Charles) Scovil; Ron (Maggie) May; Jim (Dawn) May; Dave May; and Scott (Nicole) May; grandchildren: Christopher (Sara) Scovil; Amy (Brian) Pasche; Eric (Sarah) Scovil; Kari May; Kelli May; Bryan May; and Aaron (Traci) Otte; great-grandchildren: Logan, Emily, Taylor, Holly, Natalie, Abby, and Ethan; sister-in-law: Jean Rose; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sisters, Heloise and Ruth.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka. The Reverend Monsignor Thomas J. Hargesheimer will officiate. A private family burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka on Saturday, November 17, 2012, from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass.

The family respectfully requests that memorials be considered in lieu of flowers.
