The holiday season is quickly approaching, a festive atmosphere is building and the Winona Chamber Young Professionals are ready once again to Light Up Winona. You can help them throw the switch by attending the 2nd Annual Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, December 6th at Lake Lodge.
The ceremony will begin at 5:30pm in front of the Lodge and will feature holiday music, hot apple cider, a prize drawing for the Chamber’s Lights on Main Street program, and brief words from Chamber and City officials and the Light Up Winona team.
“We had a very nice ceremony last year,” said Ed Hahn, 2012 YP Chair. “We’re hoping to build on that success this year and provide an enjoyable community event for people. We’re hoping to build a new tradition. We’re very grateful to the City, local businesses, and organizations that have worked with us to make this happen.”
For 2012, the Light Up Winona team expanded the lighting display on Lake Lodge to include some nearby trees along with adding some light statues to the front of the Lodge. The lights remain lit every evening through the winter months until the end of February.
In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved inside the lodge.
