Holiday Lighted Parade Organizer
The 11th annual holiday lighted parade was held Dec. 1 in Goodview. I would like to thank the following: Kelly Ellinghuysen, Nancy Theis, Kim Troke, Chuck Westby, Jim Wood, Joy Donnelly, Jeff Ellison, Terry Moore, Jan Troke, and Craig Mueller, as well as Merchants Bank, for a successful event.
It was a beautiful evening and the streets were lined with hundreds of spectators to watch all the floats and participants. They were all lit up with holiday lights and decorations. There were barrels along the route to deposit food donations in conjunction with the 10 Days of Giving. I would like to thank everyone involved, as this made for a truly enchanting evening.
A public reception was held following the parade at the Elks Club. We would like to thank the Winona Elks Club for the donation of the hall and the City of Goodview for all their help and support.
We are grateful to all the businesses and individuals that contributed donations or their precious time. We received monetary gifts as well as several pounds of food that will be donated to the Winona food shelf for this year’s holiday season. A special thank-you to the Goodview Activity group for their donation of $1,500 and all the businesses for donations for our silent auction, as well as the Winona Daily News and Winona Post for the wonderful coverage. Thanks also go to Jim Pampuch for all his support.
An event of this magnitude just doesn’t happen. It takes a committee to get it organized, but YOU to make it success.
Happy Holidays!
