Charlotte Rose (McNally) Henderson, 82, of Winona, died Saturday, December 1, 2012, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare.
The eldest of three siblings, Charlotte was born October 8, 1930, in Winona to Durward and Rose (Haase) McNally. She was united in marriage to Lyle Henderson on November 13, 1948, at the McKinley Methodist Church. Charlotte sewed wedding and bridesmaid dresses, doll clothing, and quilts for her family. She also enjoyed crocheting; gardening; and canning, which was a big part of her life. From lutefisk to lefse, Charlotte loved cooking, which led her to cook for a Winona State University sorority on Sarnia Street. Charlotte also worked for Brock’s and Midtown Bakery. She also sold Tupperware for a number of years. After retiring, she enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Charlotte was a member of the Ridgeway United Methodist Church and was active in the ladies aide and Old Settlers Group. Charlotte will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Arlen (Vicki) Henderson, Arlene (Joe) Lynch, Wayne (Jean) Henderson, Judy (Maurice) Ploetz, Patty (Scott) Davis, and Kevin (Kris) Henderson; 18 grandchildren, Ryan, Jana, Jesse, Jason, Cutter, Tyrrena, Jamie, Richelle, Andrea, Ashley, Buddy, Rex, Kristen, Shannon, Pamela, Brandon, Zack, and Aleksandr; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ray and William McNally; brother-in-law, Myron Henderson; sisters-in-law, Carol Brommerich, Janice Fort, Joan Fabian, Betty Fritz, and Sharon Nichols. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Lyle, in 2009.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012, at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service-Hansen Goodview Chapel and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home, with Reverend James Strom officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
