At 9:59 p.m. deputies ticketed Tiffany Lee Mitchell, 30, of Winona, for fourth degree driving while intoxicated after she arrived at the scene of a police call in progress. According to the report, deputies were responding to a complaint of an assault at a home on West Fifth Street in Goodview when Mitchell arrived at the home. Mitchell said she was upset because she thought that her mother and brother had been arrested. A deputy standing several feel from Mitchellís vehicle reported an odor of alcohol and asked Mitchell if she had been drinking. Mitchell admitted to having had a couple glasses of wine. The deputy administered a field sobriety test and preliminary breath test. Mitchell had a blood alcohol content of .09 percent.
Sunday, December 2
At 5:34 a.m. deputies arrested Matthew Scott Mark Moore, 21, of Winona, for fourth degree driving while intoxicated after a deputy found Moore near his vehicle that was in a ditch on Gilmore Valley Road, one mile north of Mohan Road. According to the report, the law enforcement center received several calls of a vehicle in a ditch. One caller suspected the driver was intoxicated. When deputies arrived on scene, they found Moore unharmed in the passenger side of the vehicle. The report said the vehicle was heading northbound on Gilmore Valley Road when it struck a guardrail and came to rest in the ditch. Moore stumbled out of the vehicle and told deputies he had had a couple drinks recently. The deputy administered a field sobriety test and arrested Moore. Moore had a blood alcohol content of .18 percent.
Monday, December 3
At 11:33 p.m. deputies arrested Douglas Kent Dahlgren, 37, of Winona, for domestic abuse causing harm and fear, and disorderly conduct, after he was involved in a physical altercation with a 26-year-old female. According to the report, the woman said Dahlgren hit her in the face, neck, and shoulder area about eight times. The altercation started in the bathroom when Dahlgren kicked open the door and began verbally abusing the victim. The female said he then hit her in the face. The argument continued to the living room where Dahlgren pushed the victim to the ground, pulled her hair, and punched her several more times. Deputies reported red scratches on the femaleís neck and blood on her shirt. Dahlgren said he consumed some alcohol but said he did not physically abuse the woman.
Friday, November 30
At 8:22 p.m. police ticketed Michael John Wigfield, 20, of Winona, for underage consumption of alcohol after police found Wigfield stumbling down the street near Second and Franklin streets. Officers administered a preliminary breath test and sent Wigfield to detox. Wigfield had a blood alcohol content of .21 percent.
At 11:39 p.m. police arrested Jordan Allen Dodd, 19, of Bloomington, Minn., for fourth degree driving while intoxicated, and ticketed Mitch James Grierson, 18, of Dassel, Minn., for underage consumption of alcohol, after the vehicle they were in was pulled over for improper lane usage near Sarnia and Dakota streets. Dodd was the driver of the vehicle, and had a blood alcohol content of .09 percent.
Saturday, December 1
At 12:40 a.m. police ticketed Patrick Julius Walker, 23, of Winona, for possession of a small amount of marijuana and disorderly conduct. Officers ticketed Jacob Wesley Crail, 26, of Winona, and Christopher Fornanyene Nimely, 20, of St. Paul Park, Minn., for obstructing the legal process. Police were called to investigate an altercation in the parking lot of Schydes bar. When officers arrived, a female witness said Walker had punched Crail in the face and walked back into the bar. Police entered the establishment and found Walker conversing with Crail. When officers asked Walker to step outside, Walker became extremely belligerent. Officers also found a bag containing a green, leafy substance in Walkerís pocket. Officers then dealt with Crail, who posed in a fight stance when police confronted him. Officers detained Crail. Police found Nimely in the parking lot, yelling obscenities. Police had to briefly detain Nimely who was allegedly belligerent with officers.
At 1:19 a.m. a Bloomer, Wis., resident living in the 500 block of Huff Street reported a Gateway laptop, headphones, wireless mouse, wallet containing a driverís license, debit card, and $200 in cash, missing from his unlocked vehicle The report said a window was rolled down and the keys were in the ignition.
At 2:12 p.m. a Winona resident reported a break-in at his residence in the 1150 block of West Broadway. The man said sometime between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. on November 26, someone broke the window of his second floor apartment and stole two gift cards valued at $25 each, and $200 in cash, from a wallet in a bedroom.
Monday, December 3
At 8:19 a.m. a Winona resident reported a break-in at his residence in the 550 block of East Fourth Street. The man said he locked his front door and left his home around 7 a.m., and returned home at 8 a.m. The front door was closed but unlocked. The man reported missing a laptop, 37-inch LCD television, 43-inch plasma television, Netgear USB adaptor, four decorative swords, and two large water jugs filled with change. The man said someone also filled a garbage bag with property, but left it in the kitchen. Estimated cost of stolen property is in excess of $2,000.
