Winona's only all-male gospel choir performs traditional and religious holiday songs at their yearly Christmas concert. A free will donation benefits the local nonprofit, Project FINE. Performances today are at 1:30 p.m. and 4: 30 p.m. at Wesley Methodist Church.
The talented men of the Winona Hims will lift up their voices this afternoon, Sunday, for two holiday performances in the beautifully decorated Wesley Methodist Church.

For nearly a decade, Winona's only all-men gospel chorus has performed throughout the area spreading the gospel message through song and raising money for various charities. This holiday season, the Hims are raising money for Project FINE, a nonprofit organization that helps newcomers integrate into the Winona community.

This afternoon, the Hims will perform traditional religious holiday music, including familiar carols and season-appropriate songs. Winona Hims member Cliff Black said the concert is not to be missed.

"This concert is fun, nostalgic, and involves audience participation," Black said. "The audience gets to join us in singing several rousing Christmas carols."

The concert will also feature the voices of the Decorah Chorale from Decorah, Iowa. The chorale has made more than 120 domestic and international appearances, and is made up of talent from around Northern Iowa and Southern Minnesota.

Through the generous donations of the many Winona Hims families and supporters, Black said, the group has raised nearly $300,000 for Winona area nonprofits.

The more than 40 members of the Hims represent a variety of churches from the area, and are dedicated to spreading the good news through music.

The Winona Hims will perform today at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. at Wesley Methodist Church on Broadway. There will be refreshments and fellowship between the two shows. The price of admission is a free will offering benefiting Project FINE.
