Rothering, Margaret Jeanne ‘Peggy’ (12/09/2012)
Margaret Jeanne Rothering “Peggy” age 80, died Wednesday, December 5, 2012, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle against cancer. She was born April 29, 1932, to Leslie and Kathleen (Valentine) Daering in Winona. She grew up and attended school in Winona. Peggy married Blaise Rothering on November 20, 1948, and they settled in the Stockton Valley. She worked at Country Kitchen, the Winona Senior Center and Winona Hospital as a kitchen supervisor. Known as Peggy to all who knew her, she was first and foremost a mom and grandmother. Peggy felt honored and proud to be Irish. She had a special love for flowers, gardening, canning, hunting morel mushrooms, and watching the gracefulness of her hummingbirds. Each year as the flowers bloom and her beloved hummingbirds return, we will all be reminded of Peg’s courage and faith to follow God’s plan.
