If you need some help putting a smile on your kids’ faces for Christmas, please come to the annual Christmas Toy Store that will be held on Saturday, December 15, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The location is the Tandeski Center on the SE Technical College Campus, 1200 Storr’s Pond Road off Bundy Boulevard. All parents who are in need of some help in providing a Christmas gift for your child are encouraged to attend. This is a free distribution. All we ask is that you provide us with the name and age of your child(ren) along with some kind of identification like a social security card, medical card or report card. Please bring identification for yourself also.
New toys are put out evenly throughout the distribution, so don’t feel that you need to come early to get the best deal. For early people, numbers will start to be given out at 8:00 a.m. and they will have an approximate shopping time for you. You are free to leave and come back then.
Agencies involved with this are the Hiawatha Valley Marines, Winona County Sheriff’s Department and the Toy Store Committee. Volunteers are being scheduled through Winona Volunteer Services. This is in conjunction with the Hiawatha Valley Marines Toys for Tots campaign.
If you have new or gently used toys to donate, you can drop them off at the Tandeski Center from 6:00-8:00 p.m. while we are there sorting this week. Remember this is a FREE distribution for Winona County residents and you are encouraged to participate. No proof of income is needed. Just your desire to see a smile on your child’s face.
